Woden

Continuing my exploration of comic techniques in a 'fine art' context. History has always played a big part in my life. I recall spending hours in the school library in grade one, flipping through books on Egypt and ancient, faraway places. My current obsession is Norse mythology and history. 'Woden', the old English version of Odin was, as many Norse deities, a complex mixture of opposites. On one hand a god of terror and war, and on another, a god of poetry and prophecy.
